VLC is one application that is used to run multimedia files such as audio or video. VLC can run various file formats related to multimedia. However, a few days ago, when I wanted to play a file with the .mid (Midi File) format, VLC did not want to respond and there was an error.
If you experience something like that. You can install additional packages, namely is "vlc-plugin-fluidsynth" to be used to play midi files. Please type the command below to install the package!
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install vlc-plugin-fluidsynth
Or, you can also get files with different package formats such as .rpm, .deb. and others through this site. If you use ubuntu, you can use the package with the .deb format and install it via Gdebi Package Installer.
If the installation is complete, please try opening the midi file that you want to play using VLC. If successful, the file will be read normally and can be played through VLC. Good luck!
